Greetings From England, To All Fellow Fans of Heller
'
Greetings From East-Anglia, England, to my fellow fans of Heller
I have been a 'Lifelong' fan of Heller kits, ever since the late 1960's & early 1970's
I built my first Airfix kits around 1967/1968 & Airfix led to FROG (Rovex), Revell & Heller models.
During several holiday-vacations in England as a child, I built several of the older Heller kits.
For example, in Norwich, 1971, the Heller Curtiss Hawk.75
I was really taken & smitten by the camouflage of the Heller Curtiss.75, so looked out for Heller.
Then in 1973, I went on vacation with my school, to St.Aygulf on the Riviera, my first time to France.
I loved that holiday SO MUCH, such a beautiful region & more Heller kits to build.
There was an 'Aeronavale' base, opposite the bay, in Frejus & the aircraft flew SO low.
Each morning we would be awaken by Breuget Alize from the base, buzzing our campsite.
Whilst we were swimming, flying over the bay, we saw Super-Frelon & Breuget Atalantic aircraft.
But the most enjoyable, were the Nord Noratlas transports, thundering real low over our heads.
Very exciting for an 11 year old boy, to be buzzed by Nord Noratlas, so close to our faces.

I vowed I would buy a Heller Nord Noratlas kit one-day - I have & it led me to here !
During that holiday, I bought & built the Heller Breuget Alize, a plane I liked, but SO noisy.
I've been to France about 40-45 times, when I lived in London, which is where I'm from.
In 1984, I visited Normandy, during the 40th anniversary of 6th June 1944 = D-Day.
Here is one picture of my Kawasaki Z.1000-J3, taken at Utah-Beach, by the sea.

I don't make kits thesedays (space constraints & family members), but still do collect.
I do hope to start making kits again, as I reach nearer to retirement age (more time & space).
I still do buy AIRFIX, REVELL & HELLER kits, as I am a fan of Heller's Douglas-DC.6
I have also (in past), built the Heller Constellation & still own other of Heller's superb kits.
(Opel Blitz, Douglas-DC.6, de-Havilland Vampire, SEPECAT Jaguar, Hawker Tempest etc, etc.)
I look forward to participating in your forum, too.
As Heller is made in Trun, I figured a 'Falaise' Hawker Typhoon would make a good avatar.
Do you guys have a 'General Dicussion Area', within the Forum itself ????
If so, could anyone please provide or post me a link ??
Many thanks, my fellow fans of Heller....
